We have all sorts of wooden hearts at The Bothy; oak, cedar, pine, large, small, decorated with ribbon and with messages. Our hearts and cards are handmade locally and make original keepsakes of this romantic day.

While The Bothy has been closed for January, Neil has been beavering away making fresh stock ready for Spring. Mini-sleeper seats, salad tables and a new style potting bench are ready and waiting for sale.

Bob has been involved in art and craft design all his working life and we are delighted to host an exhibition that celebrates the beauty of his artwork in pyrography. Bob works in his studio at Aston on Trent, making this exhibition a very local affair. Some of the wood used has been felled by our own forestry team. If you are taken by one of his large platters, wooden stools or trinket boxes, Bob can make you a specially commissioned, personalised piece.

Gavin Darby′s media is metal and Frailloop is Gavin Darby. Like the iron and steel that he mainly works in, he is drawn to it like a magnet and this Spring he′s presenting a display of wildlife made from salvaged metal - spot the item and never look at a sparkplug or a sprocket in the same way again. If you have not experienced Gavin′s work before, expect to find it refreshing and full of fun.

Local woodturner George Watkins is starting to get a national reputation for the quality and style of his work. His highly original turned and carved wooden forms are very often made with greenwood and therefore even more unique in nature.
