Experience - Willow Weaving Course: Small Round Basket

Once you have chosen the varieties of willow that will be used to make your individual basket, your tutor, will instruct the steps to be followed to ensure success in this project. Your major dilemma will be afterwards: these baskets can be put to many uses, so what will you do with yours?


Itinerary

  • 10am Welcome and introductions
  • Tuition on how to make the base and sides of the basket
  • Lunch
  • Tuition on how to construct the top of the basket and the handle
  • 3:45 pm Tidy up
  • 4.00pm Finish
  • At some point there will be a break am/pm for tea/coffee and cake/biscuits
  • Participants are welcome to stay at The Bothy to eat their packed lunches
  • Alternatively there are two cafes at Staunton Harold where food can be bought

Clothing advice

Wear comfortable clothing that allows free movement. Although we are sheltered to some extent at The Bothy, the weather in September can range from cool or wet to hot and dry: so come prepared for all sorts of weather!

What′s provided

All tuition, materials, use of tools and tea/coffee and homemade biscuits/cake. Note: Particiants will need to bring a packed lunch.
